Janet Ray, born December 14, 1947, in Watkins Glen, New York, passed away on April 14, 2025, in The Villages, Florida.

The 3 ^rd of 9 children born to Darwin and Mildred Voorhees, Janet lived in Corning, NY with her husband, Bill, until their retirement relocation to Florida in 2003. Janet embraced her Florida retirement life with enthusiasm and joy. She became a golfer who not only enjoyed the game but also led a women's golf group, fostering camaraderie and friendship on the fairways. Known for being a sharp card and mahjong player, Janet brought both skill and spirit to every game she played.

Janet's life was most marked though by her deep sense of connection to her family. In addition to being Bill's loving wife for over 56 years, Janet was a much beloved and devoted mother to daughters, Tammy Ray and Melissa (Tom) See.

In addition to her husband and daughters, Janet is survived by her siblings Mary (Tom) Wade, Mike Voorhees, Vernan Voorhees and Kathy (Calvin) Dean. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Shirley Burnett and Barb Caruso; and brothers Ken Voorhees and Rick Voorhees.
