Janet E. Whalen, 71, of Ocala, FL passed away Jan. 26, 2019. She was born April 21, 1947 to Edward and Marjorie Traver in Beacon, NY. As an adult, she had a fulfilling career as RN and nurse practitioner for many years in upstate NY.

Janet is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas Whalen; sons, Thomas of Amsterdam, NY and Brett of Napa, CA.  She will also be missed by her friends in the Stone Creek Book Club, the Nurses of Stone Creek and so many others who enjoyed her lively personality, fun sense of humor and her caring ways.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 31,2019 at 10 am, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society.

A funeral service will be held on the same day at Florida National Cemetery, at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ) or any preferred charity of your choice.
