Janice Irene
Gagnon
Jan 18, 1949 — Sep 29, 2026
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. "Proverbs 31:10-12.
Janice Irene Celantano Gagnon passed away from this earthly existence at 3:22am this day of our Lord September 29, 2026. My beautiful, strong positive wife of 27 years has gone to be with her Lord. I rejoice that she has now passed from the struggles of this earth and has been ushered into God's throne room. She was born in Englewood, New Jersey on January 18, 1949 to the late Ralph A. Celantano and Eleanor Elizabeth Dwyer Celantano.
After 26 years, 6 cancer diagnoses, and the resulting treatments and therapies, she never complained and always said “things could be worse”. Now I truly believe for her sake that things are so much better. I grieve her loss, not only for myself, but for all her family, friends and admirers. I am praying for all of you that loved her to release her from your heart and know she is now with all of us amongst the great clouds of witnesses cheering us on as we run our races. She fought the good fight of faith, and she has gone to collect her crowns. I have been so blessed to be her one flesh mate and to have enjoyed her company and support for so many years.
Janice is survived by her loving husband, Paul Patrick Gagnon; children, Stacy Koebel and husband Andy of FL, Michael Celantano and wife Cristy of NY, Brooke Filipovski and husband Brendan of Macedonia; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Ray Celantano of NH and Jimmy Celantano of NJ and several other family and friends.
Janice spent 30 years working as a cardiopulmonary technician in Sarasota, Charlotte, and Lee County. She was loved by all coworkers and friends she has met throughout the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with Paul and making memories along the way. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as I purposely go forth to administer everything going forward.
Janice’s wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes spread in Boca Grande pass and Pelican Bay where we experienced many wonderful golden days.
Baldwin Brother Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gagnon family.
