Janice Elaine McNaughton, 82, Venice, Florida formerly of Enid, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023.

She was born on July 25, 1940, to Harvey and Genevieve (Jantzen) Bullard in Orienta, Oklahoma. Raised in Buffalo, OK where she began her love for singing and playing the piano, sharing with her church community. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1958 and attended Southwest Oklahoma State University.

She was united in marriage to her life-long friend and neighbor, Paul McNaughton in 1959. From this union, they were blessed with three children Jeff, Lori, and Suzy. They lived in California for 15 years where she was a wonderful mother, homemaker, took up one of her hobbies of bowling and became a hairdresser. In 1974, the family moved to Enid, Oklahoma and made their home of 27 years. She was an active member in the Pioneer Pleasant Vale community supporting her children's many activities.

Janice had many talents and hobbies, including painting, crocheting, knitting, and quilting, passing many of these talents to her children. She also demonstrated hair dressing skills at her salon, Country Clippers, and as an instructor at Enid Beauty College and Central State Beauty Academy in Oklahoma City, where she also was a mother figure to her students. Many others looked up to her for her motherly advice and listening ears, including nieces, nephews, employees, and friends.

Janice's other love was spending time with their horses and enjoying the horse races. She and Paul shared their love of the races with many friends and family.

Janice will be greatly missed by the immeasurable number of lives that she touched. We were greatly blessed to have her as our wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Janice is survived by her husband, Paul. Children: Jeff (Lou Ann) McNaughton of Dallas, TX, Lori (Steve) Scott of Nokomis, FL and Suzy Gregg of Venice, FL. Grandchildren: Matthew Willmeng, Sloan Stefanek and Shelby Stefanek, Nichole (Rob) Fox, Skyler (Kristen) Scott, Lexi Gregg, and Nathan Gregg. Great-grandchildren: Chase, Amelia, Avery, and Asher. Her sister Mary Jane Weldon and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Genevieve Bullard, son-in-law Clark Gregg and brother-in-law Phil Weldon.

A private family service will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bennie's Barn in Enid. Bennie's Barn was created on the farm where Paul and Janice resided for 27 years.
