Janice (Jan) Ann Rechkemmer, 82, of The Villages, FL, went to be with Jesus on April 6, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.

Born in La Crosse, WI, on October 30, 1942, the daughter of Roger and Charlotte Knutson, Jan lived a life full of love and service to others. She was a dedicated nurse, carrying a spirit of compassion into all aspects of her life. Jan shared over 55 years of love, laughter, travel, and the occasional round of golf with Roy H. Rechkemmer, Sr., her late husband. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Justine, with whom she shared a deep passion for gardening.

Jan found great joy in tending to her yard, appreciating the beauty of plants and flowers. Her home was always immaculate, reflecting her love for decorating and the pride she took in creating a welcoming space for family and friends. She devoted her time generously to her church, sharing her careful attention to detail and joy of decorating by preparing the sanctuary for services and special holidays.

Jan's memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her daughter, Cheryl of The Villages, FL; her son, Roy H. Rechkemmer, Jr. and his wife Rhonda, of Virginia Beach, VA; her brothers Ron and Ray Knutson of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Carrie O'Brien, Hollie Cuellar, Jaymes Shackelford, Justine Gourley, Ryan Rechkemmer, Randy Rechkemmer; and eleven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 250 Avenida Los Angelos, The Villages, Florida, 32162. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the church for lunch.

Jan will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
