Janice Lee Smith (née Erwin), aged 86, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Richwood, Ohio during May of 1937, she lived a full life with friends and family throughout Ohio, New Hampshire, and Florida

Janice dedicated her life to being a steadfast wife to her husband, Gordon, and a nurturing mother to her children, Gregory, Melissa, and Richard. Her commitment to family was unwavering, her love and support a constant presence. She lived her life with quiet dignity, her actions always speaking louder than her words. She was truly a pillar of strength and heart within her family. As a friend to many, she was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her home was a refuge of warmth and welcome, much like her heart. Her smile and laugh were contagious. A celebration of Janice's life will be held later this year. Her legacy of love, patience, and humility will continue to inspire those who knew her. The family suggests that those wishing to honor Janice's memory do so with a donation to Hospice, in recognition of the gentle care and comfort they provide.
