Jason James Zavitz Sr., 89, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born on August 8, 1934, in Capac, Michigan, son of late Alvin William Zavitz and Ruth Foster Zavitz Parkinson Baird. Jay graduated from Port Huron High School in 1952 and worked in construction.

He was a member of the Laborers Local Union 463 in Michigan, and later joined the Laborers Local Union 517 in Orlando when he moved to Florida in 1983. Jay enjoyed being outdoors, sailing, spending time with his grandchildren, and eating pizza.

He leaves behind his son, Jason (Lori) Zavitz II, sister, Helen Zavitz Romph, and brother, Gerald Zavitz. He is predeceased by his two brothers, Robert Parkinson and Darryl Zavitz.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Madison Zavitz (Orlando, FL), Kelty Zavitz (Atlanta, GA), Mackendrick Zavitz (Maitland, FL), and Jason Zavitz III (Maitland, FL).

The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life on December 27, 2023, from 5-7 PM at Paisano's Pizza 1272 W. Holden Ave. Orlando, FL 32839.
