December 19, 1940 – June 11, 2025
Jean E. Fusco, 84 of Homosassa, FL, passed peacefully into the hands of God on June 11, 2025.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 19th, 1940, to John and Norma McCaig. Jean graduated from Arlington High School in 1959 in Arlington, MA. Her favorite subject was English, in which she excelled. She also enjoyed music.
Jean worked for many years following her marriage to Robert J. Leason and was a mom to three children. She earned a certificate to work as a secretary. Jean also worked at Shreve, Crump & Low in Boston, MA, for several years. She then went into law enforcement as a Parking Control Officer in Cambridge, MA. She worked hard in all kinds of weather, ticketing people parking illegally.
Once Jean retired from Law Enforcement, she moved to Florida with her second husband, Frank Fusco. During her 24 years in Florida, she followed her passion to learn how to play the organ. Over the years, she purchased many, and each one got bigger and had better sound quality. Jean took lessons from Fletcher's Music Center, and sometimes she would play inside the store and go to a concert. Jean made many wonderful friends there and enjoyed going out to dinner following lessons. Jean's other passion was crocheting. She made countless Afghans, Doll Clothes, and Care Bears. She loved making Afghans for family and friends and anyone who she felt needed a warm hug.
Jean E. Fusco is survived by her daughter, Darlene J. Cote and husband Michael P. Cote, her son David A. Leason and his wife Mary A Penketh, and stepson Frank Fusco. She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Jansz and her husband James Jansz, her brother Laurence McCaig and his wife Joyce, Grandchildren Amanda Leason, Timothy Leason, Lori Leason, Shannon Leason, and Michael J. Cote, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Frank Fusco, her former Husband, Robert J. Leason, and her son, Robert L. Leason, her Parents, John and Norma McCaig, her Sisters Nancy Smith, Norma O'Brien, and Mary McCaig, and her Brother John McCaig.
Jean was cremated on June 19th, 2025. A Celebration of Life to be held at First Congregational Church in Kingston, NH, on August 3rd, 2025.
