IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean
Johnson
February 13, 1948 – February 16, 2025
Jean Hudson Johnson passed away unexpectedly on February 16, 2025 at the age of 77 at UF Health Hospital in The Villages, Florida. She was born February 13, 1948 in Rochester, New York.
She is survived by the love of life and best friend, her husband Bryan; and their two children daughter, Julie Lynn Masi and son James Sax (Holly) Johnson; and their four grandchildren Nicole and Ryan Masi, Jeremy Grovanz, and Robbie Johnson. Jean is also survived by her big brother Robert Hudson Jr.; and her sister, Janet (Mark) Richardson; as well as her nieces Michelle DeMonte, Shane Bode, Rachael Hartsock, Emily Richardson, and nephews Brad and Matt Richardson. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Betty and Robert Hudson Sr., her in-laws, May and Reuden Johnson, nephew Robert Hudson III, and her sister-in-law, Gail Hudson.
Jean graduated from Gates Chili High School in 1966 and enjoyed getting together with her classmates through the years. She married Bryan Johnson on May 24, 1969, and after living in several homes in the Rochester area, they eventually moved their family to Honeoye Lake where they lived for 20 years. Jean was a teacher's assistant for many years at Honeoye Central School District and loved working with the children. It wasn't always ideal for Julie and Jimmy to have their mother working in the same school they attended because there were eyes and ears everywhere and no matter what they did, Jean always found out.
She leaves many wonderful friends in Honeoye and Florida who will miss her caring and passionate heart. Jean loved people and people loved her. Jean was witty and always had an instant comeback to whatever was said and she filled a room with love and laughter. She was a true friend who always put others before herself. No one could have a better friend than Jean.
In retirement, Jean and Bryan moved to The Villages, Florida, in 2006 where she enjoyed golfing, line dancing, pickleball and many other activities. Jean lived life to the fullest. She was known for her homemade decorated cakes and wonderful dinners and luncheons (with charger plates) at her home. She was a shopping queen and loved finding deals and then playing the game, How much did it cost? Hobby Lobby will miss her! Jean was an outstanding crafter and loved making things for her family which included numerous Christmas ornaments each year for her grandchildren. Jean loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was always there cheering on the sidelines. Her grandchildren filled her heart with love.
Jean was a wonderful friend, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. All are saddened at the passing of Jean and she will be forever missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Savannah Center in The Villages on March 26, 2025 from 2-6. There will also be a celebration this summer in New York. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com .
