Jean Marie (Pope) Putnam, 84, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, entered into eternal rest on October 17, 2026. Jean was born and raised in Luzerne, Pennsylvania. She graduated from West Side Central Catholic High School in Kingston, Pennsylvania in 1960.

Jean married decorated World War II veteran, Arthur “Art” Putnam October 18, 1975, and together they resided in Washington, DC. Jean was employed by The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Washington, D.C. Jean relocated to New Smyrna Beach, Florida in July of 1991.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Putnam, parents, William and Mary Pope, bother, William “Billy” Pope and sister, Hilda Shatrowsky. Jean is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Armstrong, niece, Mary Crupi, nephews, James Ford (Nettie), Henry Ford (Robin), George Shatrowsky (Darlene), David Shatrowsky (Mary Beth), Joseph Shatrowsky (Debra), Robert Shatrowsky (Carol), Mark Shatrowsky and several grandnephews and grandnieces.

Friends are invited to celebrate Jean’s life on October 26, 2026, at Baldwin Funeral Home, 1 N Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, Fl from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered October 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.at St. James Catholic Church 3628 Rhode Island Avenue Mount Rainer, MD 20712. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at: Fort Lincoln Cemetery 3401 Bladensburg Road Brentwood, MD 20722. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Jean’s memory to a charity of your choice.
