Jean Cahoon Smith passed away March 23, 2018 in Ft. Myers at the age of 96. She was born June 5, 1921 in Bangor, Maine. She was the Owner of Land Projects Inc. with her husband Arthur. They sold the company and retired to Ft. Myers in the early 80's. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Whitmore of Ft. Myers, FL; her grandson, Albert R. Whitmore Jr. and his fiancé Joanne Carney, both of Ft. Myers; her granddaughter, Nadine Slagle and her husband George of Port Saint John; her 5 great grandchildren, Joshua, Bryant, Nathan Torres, Dustin and Cassandra Clark; her sisters and brother, June Varney, Annette Donovan, and Ernie Cahoon and his wife Dollie; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service celebrating the life Jean will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Ft. Myers Congregational United Church of Christ, 8210 College Pwky., Ft. Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Jean to Hope Hospice, 9461 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL.
