Jeffery Robert Carpenter died peacefully during Hospice at home in Tavares FL. He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Thomas) Lowe Carpenter, parents Almond and Maxine Carpenter, son Jay Carpenter, and step son David Terrel.

He is survived by children Richard Carpenter, Cheryl Bartz, Stanley (Skip) Carpenter, and step daughter Barbara Burgess; numerous Grandchildren and great Grandchildren; and his brother Jackson Carpenter.

He graduated from Central High School, class of 1959, in Traverse City, Michigan. After retiring from the US Navy as a lieutenant he obtained an Associate Degree.

Joining the CIA he and Mary resided in many places both during Jeff's 22 years in the US Navy and then several years with the CIA. Finally settling in Tavares FL at Baytree for 24 years. They cruised often in the Caribbean and especially enjoyed a trip into the Panama Canal.

He enjoyed golf and helped run a golf league for many years. His other passion was computers as he not only built them for Baytree neighbors but managed the website for Baytree.
