Jeff was born Jeffrey Lynn Anderson, June 16, 1945, son of Helen and George Anderson, Louisville, KY. He was blessed by his wife, Wendy S. Anderson of 6 years, and is also survived by two brothers, William R. Anderson, and George E. Anderson. He was blessed with his first wife of 36 years, Carol L. Anderson (deceased) and her children, Roger Antone (deceased), William R. Antone, Michelle A. Wiedeman, and Lisa A. Godsey.

He resided in Louisville, KY, Grand Island, NB, Alexandria, VA, Arlington, VA, Destin, FL, and The Villages, FL. He was elected for years to serve on the Arlington County Civic Association.

Jeff was a highly technical and accomplished electrical engineer, graduating in 1969, BEE from University of Louisville, J.B. Speed Scientific School. He has been a licensed ham radio operator since just after elementary school and an avid electronics hobbyist, winning first places in science fairs. After engineering school and a failed engagement, he went to Washington, DC, devoting his life working for the Federal Communications Commission. While there he assisted in writing some of the ham radio exam questions.

After some Federal law enforcement agent school, he was reassigned to investigate illegal use of radio. He became agent in charge of Special Enforcement, central USA, and then the Commission's southeastern region. He suffered some life-long injuries while on assignment. He and his staff also designed and constructed small fleets of multimillion dollar undercover radio directing finding and surveillance vehicles. Those fleets with no outward sign of anything unusual were closer to James Bond sorts of sedans than anything else actually realistic – even more elaborate in many ways (but no ejection seats). In later years he returned to FCC headquarters in Washington, DC to assist technically directing some of the Commission's nation-wide enforcement programs.

In his early years at Washington, DC he became an avid autocross competitor and regional champion in a self-maintained and prepared modified Lotus, and later too, in the Atlantic region. He later became quite a Mazda Miata sportscar enthusiast. He upgraded thousands of Miata radios for fellow Miata enthusiast nationwide. Before becoming ill, he also designed and produced for decades specialized antennas for Miata communications on club drives.
