It is with deep sorrow we announce the loss of Jeffrey G. Whittaker Jr., 55 after a second battle with cancer. He passed peacefully on January 5th, surrounded by loved ones.

Jeff was born in Gulfport, MS to Judy Whittaker and Jeffrey Whittaker Sr. relocating to Florida as a toddler. He graduated from Manatee High School in 1988 and was a resident of Manatee County until relocating to Marion County several years ago.

Jeff was an avid sports fan (Go Gators!) and sportsman. He enjoyed making lasting memories with his son, family and friends, mapping out new fishing spots, catching a sunset and enjoying life. There was never a dull moment when he was around and his presence will be missed tremendously.

Jeff is survived by his beloved son, Devin; parents, Judy Whittaker and Jeffrey (Julie) Whittaker Sr.; sister Melissa Whittaker, siblings Michael Ritchie and Kirsten Wilson, nephew Ryan Whittaker, niece Briana Everett, great niece Aryanna, his number one Uncle, Paul and Aunt Debby Dellenger, Uncles Terry Hovis and Roy Whittaker Jr., Aunt Dianne Davidson, life long friends Steve and Erin Georgie and daughters, several cousins, his work family at Prime Source and many other close friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Col. Roy and Fay Whittaker Sr., Ralph and Mildred Hovis and Aunt, Sue and Uncle Bruce Staples. Jeff aka Helmet will be missed by anyone who knew him.
