Obituary

Jerilyn Struzinski (Jeri), of originally Cranston, Rhode Island was born October 24, 1958. After a brief but courageous battle with biliary cancer, she passed away at home on February 18, 2024 surrounded by family. She was a devoted wife, mother, in-law, sister, and aunt. Jeri prided herself in her career of being a registered nurse at Sarasota Memorial Hospital working in areas to include orthopedics, women's services, oncology, short-stay, and day treatment services. She later then became a stay at home mother to raise her two daughters. She loved to decorate and always excelled at turning her house into a warm home to live in. While being a resident of Florida for 31 years, she avidly enjoyed beach and boating days in Venice, a spot she shared often with her husband and family. She had a love for sports, particularly baseball and football, and was a dedicated fan to the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Some of her other enjoyments included: animals, vacationing in New England, Saturday yard sales, Motown music, reading, seafood, crossword puzzles, and her daily viewing of Judge Judy. She was a whiz at Wheel of Fortune and could solve the puzzles well before the contestants could. As a devout follower of Christ, she accepted Jesus into her life and prayed often. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul; Beloved dog, Brewster; Cat, Karma; Parents, Doris and John; and siblings Cynthia, Michael, and Linda. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Tom; Daughters, Nicole (Ben) Budde and Tara (Adam) Ross; Cat, Gypsy Rose; Dog, Bailey; Brothers, John, Richard, and Walter; as well as several Nephews and Nieces. Jeri touched many lives with her generosity. She will be deeply missed and remembered by many.
