Jerrell (Jerry) G. Deen was born 2-10-1933 to the late J.O. Deen and Gertrude Prudhomme Deen in Monroe, Louisiana.

Jerry was educated at Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University. He was employed by Western Paper Company, a division of International Paper Company for 38 years. He served as Vice President, General Manager for the printing paper division for the State of Louisiana until his retirement. He returned as a consultant until January 2000, when he told his division president it was time to get out of paper and get into golf.

Jerry was an elder at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, past president of The Southern Paper Trade Association, a member of West Shreveport Rotary in Shreveport, LA, a charter member of the University Club of Shreveport, a member of the Dealer Advisory Council for Kodak-Polychrome Corporation and served on the Board of Caddo Council on Aging for Shreveport, LA for many years. He loved to play golf and was a member of Broadmoor Men's Golf Club.

He and Kate, his wife, and daughter Karla moved to Ocala, FL in 2016 and joined Countryside Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Kate of 67 years (as of 3.10.23) and two daughters, Katherine Way and husband Brad, of Fort Myers, FL, and Karla Deen of Ocala, FL.

He loved Ocala and the members of Countryside Presbyterian Church. Thank you for accepting us.
