Jewell Dean "Deanie" Bunting Petti Ray, 84, passed peacefully at home with her family Nov. 13, 2023, in Daytona Beach, FL. She was born January 29, 1939, to E. G. & Mattie Waisner Bunting in Albemarle, North Carolina.

Deanie, as she was known to her family and friends, graduated from High School in Albemarle in 1957 and went on to successfully complete the Dental Assistants program at the University of North Carolina Dental School. She moved to Daytona Beach, FL in 1958, where she lived at the YMCA. In 1959, she was elected President of the Volusia County Dental Association.

Deanie married Kenneth Petti in 1960 and they had 3 children, Gregory, Mary Dean, and Deidre. Kenneth passed away in 1984.

Deanie went on to pursue a career at General Electric, where she met and married Michael "Mike" E. Ray. Both Deanie and Mike retired from General Electric in 1994. Mike passed away in August of 2020.

Deanie was predeceased by her parents and 3 brothers, Donald, Bob, and Rodger, one daughter, Mary-Dean Petti Robles, as well as her first husband, Kenneth Petti, and her second husband, Mike Ray.

Deanie is survived by her son, Gregory Petti and daughter, Deidre Petti, as well as 2 grandchildren, Nicole and Zachary.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, totally devoted to her family. She will be dearly loved and missed forever.
