Jim
Allender
Apr 15, 1980 — Oct 11, 2026
Jim Allender, 46, of South Daytona, FL formerly of Cape Coral, FL, departed us for Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026.
Born April 15, 1980, to a proud Keith & Sherri Allender in Evansville, IN, Jim was a joy from the start. He graduated in ‘98 from Mariner HS in Cape Coral, FL and immediately began as a courier with FedEx Express thru 2008. With his young family as priority, he retired from that beloved occupation and purchased Sherzer Insurance in South Daytona, FL at just 28 years old. Determined to succeed, Jim proceeded to confidently and intentionally pour his heart into his new agency and community for the next 18 years. He later partnered in the launch of 3 more offices, always eager to encourage others’ success.
Most recently, our gregarious Jim was awarded the Frank Crooks Community Member Award in 2024 by the Port Orange South Daytona COC, served as President of the Board for the Presbyterian Counseling Center, led as a COC Leads Group President, was a member of Tomoka Christian in Ormond Beach, and was a passionate owner and breeder of thoroughbred racehorses. Paramount to Jim’s heart, however, were his sons Blake and Will. His daily world revolved around them and their schedules. Nothing came before his time with them, so much so that they often participated with Dad at business lunches, board meetings, and horse farms.
Jim loyally and unconditionally loved his wife, Lyndsey, for 22 years and is survived by his always-supportive parents, his revered and loving sister April, his treasured sons Blake and Will, and nieces Jenna, Jalyn, as well as a beloved aunt, uncles and cousins, an innumerable number of friends, and a priceless, beloved staff at Sherzer Insurance.
A celebration of Jim will be held Sun. Oct. 25 at 4pm at Tomoka Christian in Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, Jim was an avid supporter of Tomoka Christian Church (tomoka.cc/missions), the Presbyterian Counseling Center (presbyteriancounseling.com), and the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (thoroughbredaftercare.org).
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—and not by works, so that no one can boast.” Eph. 2:8-9
