The most loving and beloved husband, father, grandpa, and brother, Jimmie Randolph Davis, 77, passed away June 9, 2025 in The Villages, Florida, with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law by his side.. He was born July 5, 1947 to the late Clinton Randolph Davis and Margaret Walker Davis. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Joni Hirn, and brother, Daniel Locke.
Jimmie grew up in Hopewell, Virginia, the second of seven children. In 1966, he met the love of his life, Jackie Greene, and they married a year later in 1967. During their marriage, they lived in many localities. In 1970, they welcomed their only child, Kimberly, in Austin, Texas.
Jimmie attended Hopewell schools, and graduated from the College of William and Mary – Richard Bland with an Associate in Science in Business, and from St. Leo College – Florida with an Associate of Arts in 1980 and a Bachelor of Arts in 1981.
Jimmie was a member of the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971. He then worked for the Department of Defense for thirty-five years in logistics. His career led him to Germany, the Netherlands, where he held a position as a Logistics Management Specialist at Combat Equipment Battalion Northwest, Washington, DC, and Qatar, earning the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, where he was the Civilian Executive Assistant, U.S. Army Materiel Command Forward – Southwest Asia. He and Jackie lived in Europe from 1984 to 1999. After his retirement in 2002, he joined his brothers Randy and Barry at Davis Steel in Hopewell, Virginia. Jimmie retired in 2011 from Davis Steel, and he and Jackie moved to The Villages, Florida, where they lived in their personal paradise, laughing with many friends, new and old.
Jimmie really enjoyed golfing, traveling, singing, and playing guitar with the Walker side of the family. He had a quick wit and could mimic anyone. His visits with family and friends always included lots of laughter as he was a master storyteller and comedian, and he was always the life of the party.
Jimmie is survived by his beloved bride, Jackie, of The Villages, Florida; his daughter Kimberly Clausen and her husband Jeffrey, of Lady Lake, Florida; grandson, Colby Clausen of Virginia, his son Chayden, and his daughter, Ava; granddaughter, Paige Guy, her husband Michael, and their daughter, Josie, of DeWitt, Virginia; sister, Jeane Pemberton of Colonial Heights, Virginia; brother, Lewis Davis of S. Chesterfield, Virginia; brother, Randy Davis and his wife, Anna, of Spring Grove, Virginia; sister, Joyce Honeycutt of Virginia; brother, Barry Davis and his wife, Vicky, of Prince George, Virginia; b onus brother Mark Locke of Maryville, Tennessee; bonus sister Maria Elmore of S. Chesterfield, Virginia; uncle Joe Walker of Redding, California; aunt Linda Cooper of S. Chesterfield, Virginia; uncle David Allan Walker, and his wife Teri, of Lady Lake, Florida; many nieces, nephews, and extended family; and a whole host of friends throughout the world.
The family will celebrate Jimmie's life on June 20, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery , 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513, with a reception to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Colony Cottage Recreation Center , 510 Colony Boulevard, The Villages, Florida. There will be an additional celebration of life held in Virginia at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
