Prospect – Mrs. Joan M. (Long) Casey, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Joan was born in Waterbury on August 9, 1933, a daughter to the late William and Antoinette (Nardello) Long and is survived by her brother Wiliam Long Jr. and his wife Susan of Florida.  She retired from Bank of Boston Connecticut.

She leaves her daughter and four sons, John Casey Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of North Carolina, Brian Casey and his wife Karen, of Waterbury, Kevin Casey and his wife Karen, of Naugatuck, Daren Casey of Florida and Kari (Casey) Jonikas and her husband Dave of Prospect; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her husband John Patrick Casey, Sr. and her sister Myrna (Long) Thurston.

Joan's family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Halifax Health Hospice and Plan Life Care of Daytona, Florida for their comfort and compassion given to Joan during her short illness.
