Joan B. Lassus (Lilley) passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 88 after a short illness at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital in Englewood, Florida. Born in Newark, NJ, she grew up in Clark, NJ and graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield, NJ. She moved to Angola, IN in 1979, and lived there for 33 years before moving to Venice, Florida in 2012.

Joan is survived by her husband, James E. Lassus, two children; a daughter Stacey (Shook) Evard, and a son Christopher Shook. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Jared Stowe, Lauren Stowe, Danicha (Shook) Pittenger, and Reed Shook; and four great granddaughters; Marleigh & Braelyn Stowe and Rowan & Charlotte Pittenger. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Walter F. & Marjorie Lilley.

A celebration of life is being held at Jim & Joan's beloved, former home on Lake James on Saturday, July 11th from 2-5 p.m.
