Joan M. McManus, 87, passed away suddenly on October 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in Daytona Beach, FL. Joan was born to Sebastian and Gladys Alig on June 14, 1939, in Ithaca New York. 

She graduated from BCC and then began working as Secretary at the Binghamton City School District for 20 years. 

Joan was a devoted Catholic, she was always caring, loving, generous and she loved her family and friends deeply. She loved working in the yard, watching her soap opera's and QVC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sebastian and Gladys Alig, her husband of 42 years, Frank, her partner of 18 years, Bob Kelly, her son Thomas and daughter MaryLynn, her brother, Ronald, her sister, Shirley, her grandchildren, Lauren Tracz and Steven McManus and her sister in law, Sally Alig.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Joe) Segich, Timothy, Francis (Angela), Christopher (Jackie), along with her brothers William Alig, Norbert (Madeline) Alig, sister in law, Betsy Alig, grandchildren, Ryan and Kevin Harrer, Shaun, Kyle (Destannie), Logan, Josephine (Sebastian), Eva (Kacey), great-grandchildren, Zachary Tracz, Theodore, Adalynn Joan, Kinsley, Karson, along with several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at a later date in Binghamton, New York.
