IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan
Scholz
August 5, 1955 – September 5, 2024
Joan Marie Scholz (née Mand) August 5, 1955 – September 5, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Marie Scholz (née Mand), age 69, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dedicated nurse, Joan lived a life full of love, compassion, and service. She was married to Calvin William Scholz for 48 wonderful years, sharing an enduring partnership that will forever inspire those who knew them.
Born on August 5, 1955, to Thelma (Vogel) and Robert Mand, Joan was the 6th of 12 children in a large, close-knit family. She is survived by her loving siblings: James Mand, John (Patricia) Mand, Patricia Mand, Robert (Karen) Mand, Michael Mand, Susan (Larry) Koehler, Bridget Engel, David (Ann) Mand, and Barb (Dick Elliott) Mand. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Steve Mand, Ken Mand, and Mary Kolbe.
Joan is survived by her three children: Erica Syed (née Scholz) and her husband Rehan, along with their children Sakina, Naseer, and Zarina; David Scholz; and Jared Scholz, his wife Emily, and their children Kai, Calvin, and Leo. Joan's deep love for her family was evident in every moment she shared with them, and she took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to her six cherished grandchildren.
A nurse for 45 years, Joan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and spent her life providing care, comfort, and healing to countless patients. Her dedication to her profession reflected her compassionate heart, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
Joan will be remembered not only for her tireless work as a nurse but also for the warmth, kindness, and laughter she brought to every family gathering. Her spirit was the glue that bound her loved ones together, and her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held in Wisconsin at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to https://winurseshonorguard.com/donate/ or https://sjogrens.org/ in Joan's memory.
