IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joann
Recenello
June 24, 1938 – May 29, 2025
Joann "Mums" Frances Recenello, 86, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 24, 1938, Joann spent her early years in Elmont, New York and later built a long and dedicated career with the Long Island Railroad in the Lost and Found department. She was promoted to Senior Assistant to the Movement Director. It was there she worked alongside the love of her life, Anthony "Tony" Recenello, a LIRR Conductor. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and the joy of raising a large blended family.
Joann was known for her bold spirit, quick wit, silly quirks and unwavering loyalty to those she loved. Whether she was dancing to her favorite music, hitting the golf course, crafting ceramics, playing bingo, or doting on her beloved chihuahuas, Coco and Goldie, Joann embraced life with a fiery energy and a heart full of love.
She is survived by her husband Tony; her children Suzanne (Brent), Christopher, Jamie (Karen), Michael, Lisa, Tracey (Agnita); 17 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sons Bobby and Anthony Jr.
Joann's memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love held by those who knew her best. She had a spirited personality and a flair for keeping things interesting, and she will be remembered for the unique mark she left on her family and the life she lived in her own way.
