Joanne Alice Streiffert

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joanne Alice Streiffert (nee McEwen), age 85, on July 11 ^th, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida surrounded by her children.

Born in Rapid City, South Dakota on October 10 ^th ,1939 to William McEwen and Viola Johanna (Kirkpatrick) McEwen, she was raised in Piedmont, South Dakota on the family cattle ranch. Joanne excelled in school and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where her two children were born.

Joanne found her best life when she moved to Lenoir City, Tennessee in 1976. She found her lifelong friends as a member of American Business Women's Association, where she served as president and chair of many fundraising events. Joanne loved the mountains and the people of her adopted hometown. In 2015 she retired to New Smyrna Beach, Florida to be near her children.

She is survived by her son, Mark LaRoza (Carol Ann); daughter, Michelle Cierpial (Mark); grandchildren Cheyanne Cierpial (Nicole), Zachary Cierpial (Natalie); great-grandchildren Ellis and Jones Cierpial.
