Joel Alan Wright, 62 of Leesburg, FL passed away at home with his loving wife at his side on June 2, 2023 after a two year battle with cancer.

Joel leaves behind his dedicated wife, Anne-Marie and five loving children Rachel, Kayla, AJ, Dylan, Megan, two grandsons and two sisters, Laurinda and Mary. Joel was predeceased by his older brother John. He will be missed by his loyal dog, Emma.

Joel was a a police officer for seven years in Avon Park, FL before transferring to Orlando PD where he became a homicide detective and worked in Internal Affairs. Joel earned multiple awards and certifications. He thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at his career. He retired after 32 years of service.

Joel enjoyed riding his Harley, boating and the beach. He also loved the Boston Red Sox as well as playing golf and darts.

A celebration of life will be held on June 15th at 1:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Police Orlando Lodge 25.
