John Baltzley died at his home in New Smyrna Beach on February 27, 2021.

John is survived by his wife, Emily Helmly Lamont, and his sons, Steve, Ed, and Kevin Baltzley, sister, Jane Solt and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Jane Baltzley, and his daughter, Susan Baltzley.

John grew up in the Hagerstown, MD, area, but left right after high school for a career in the US Navy. He particularly loved the exhilaration of working on the flight deck of Navy carriers. After retiring from the Navy, he spent two decades at Florida Steel, now Gerdau, in Baldwin, and also enjoyed a sideline business painting cars, especially race cars. After his second retirement, John managed condominiums in the Green Cove Springs and Orange Park area, before moving to New Smyrna Beach.

John loved to play golf (he recently shot his age), travel, wine, and fishing. A private service will be held at the Veteran Cemetery in the future.
