John Edward Collette, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida went to be with the lord surrounded by his family on May 11th after a long illness. John was born on May 18th, 1943 in St. Albans, Vermont where he later graduated from St. Mary's High School.

John is survived by his wife Donna Collette, daughter Kim Freeman and her husband Keith of North Carolina, his son Greg Collette and his wife Dawn of Vermont. Four step sons, Ed, Steve, Tom, Scott and their families, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Loretta Collette, Triplet Siblings, and his sister Maryellen Peters.

John worked for Noyes Tire Company for many years which led him to start his own tire company called Mountain View Tire. He then worked for Overhead Door, Williston Vermont for several years.

John loved his Dallas Cowboys, Golf, Boating, Snowmobiling, Apple Island Camp and spending time with family and friends.

His outgoing, gregarious personality brought a smile to the face of anyone that was lucky enough to know him. Even a stranger didn't remain a stranger for long. Knowing him made all of us better people. He was always there for everyone and the first to lend a hand if needed.

Services will be at the discretion of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your local hospice organization.

He will be greatly missed by all!!! We love you daddy!
