John E. Craig, 93, of Fort Myers, FL., formerly of Toronto, OH., passed away Friday February 1, 2019, with his loving wife by his side. John was born July 24, 1925, the son of Edward Craig and Lura (Slocum) Bates.

John was a member of the Methodist Church and his faith was the center of his life.  He served the Lord by helping his friends and neighbors. John was an avid tennis fan and played into his 90's.

John served his country in the Navy in WWII.

Surviving are his wife, Allene, son John M. Craig (Iris) of Toronto, OH., daughter Jeanne Tiberio (Tony) of Wintersville, OH., granddaughter, Christianne Benton (Josh) of Steubenville, OH., great grandson, Jacob, sisters, Norma Moore of Bergholz, OH., Nancy Bates of Wheeling, WV., brother Walter Bates of Wooster, OH., two nieces and one nephew.

His wish was to be cremated, with no visitation.
