John was born in Lansing, Michigan. He served our nation in the US Army in the 11th Airborne. John retired from Michigan Bell telephone with 30 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church New Smyrna Beach. He is survived by his wife Arlene, children Maureen and Paul Powers, Bridget Daley, Patrick and Patricia Daley, Kevin and Kat Daley, Brian and Denise Daley, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
