John Joseph DeFrancesco, Sr., age 102, a WWII Air Force veteran, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026.
It is with a heavy and sad heart that I share the passing of John J DeFranceso who left this world on 4/13/2026 at the age of 102. Born in Waterbury CT to Charles & Fannie DeFrancesco. John was a WWII B17 bomber pilot and a POW. After the war he was a mechanical engineer for the Waterbury Manufacturing Company for many years. Upon retiring John and his family moved to Ocala, FL in 1982 . While living in Ocala John worked at Townley Manufacturing Co for many years.
He lived a wonderful and fun filled life. At the age of 102 John was able to live at home with minimum assistance.
He leaves behind his daughter Sharon Sumner of Madison FL. Four grandchildren Jeremy Ladd of Lawrenceville, GA, Jeffery Ladd of Ocala, FL, Frances DeFrancesco of Jacksonville, FL, Christina DeFrancesco of Ocala, FL. Four great grandchildren, Dawson, Parker, Sawyer, Ayla and 3 step grandchildren, Lani, Kaylee and Chase. Also his sister-in-law Nina DeFrancesco of Oakville, CT and neice Kendra and nephew Eddy also of Oakville, CT, and nephew Alberto Breccia of Gainesville, FL. He will be greatly missed.No service arrangements have been made at this time.
