Obituary

John N (Jack) DeLelys, 84, passed away on July 1, 2023 after a very brief battle with Cancer.

Jack was born in Seneca Falls, NY to Norval A DeLelys and Margaret F Fitzsimmons on August 17, 1938. He attended West Genesee High School.

He worked 40 years at Babbitt Bearings in Syracuse starting as a Machinist then Tool & Die Maker then Supervisor and finished his career as Plant Manager retiring in 2000. He enjoyed 23 years of retirement.

He loved White-Tail Deer Hunting and was well prepared and skilled at it. He was actively involved in Motorcycles embracing the Biker culture, racing and winning at flat track, hill climb and scrambles in the 60's and the 70's. He then used his machining, fabrication and mechanical skills to build show winning bikes, some would say he was a trend setter on the style of his builds. Those who knew Jack knew his bikes were some of the best built and aesthetically pleasing Harleys around, He even customized a Boss Hoss V8 bike adding flamed paint job and fabricating parts to make it run and work better, which he rode into his last years.

He lived in Oswego County for 35 years before moving to Southwest FL.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents of Fairmount and a sister, Sister M. Johanna, OSF of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, NY.

Jack is survived and will be missed by his Wife Cheryl, Daughter Jolene of Grants Pass, OR and Sons John S. (Lisa) DeLelys of Camillus, NY, Stephen M. DeLelys of Camillus, NY and Michael J. (Michelle) DeLelys of Wakefield, MA.

Grandchildren Jordanne (Dan) Ringwald, John (Brittany) Martin, Stephen Jr, Devin, Cameron and Adeline DeLelys.

3 Great-grandchildren.

His remains will be cremated, and his ashes distributed by his family and friends at his favorite hunting area at a later date to be determined.
