IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John "Jack"
E. Bersani
May 21, 1954 – July 2, 2025
John "Jack" E. Bersani, originally from Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away on July 2, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.
Jack lived a life dedicated to service – first to his country, and then to his community. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, later became a firefighter with the Quincy Fire Department, and ultimately fulfilled his dream of becoming a police officer with the Quincy Police Department. After retiring, Jack moved to Florida to enjoy his later years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne (Simpson) Bersani, his mother Lena (Delgreco) Bersani, and his father John A. Bersani.
Jack was a proud and devoted family man, known for his unwavering support and high standards. He cherished his role as a provider and protector, and his loyalty to his country never faltered. In retirement, Jack found joy in woodworking, traveling with his girlfriend Jerilyn Eisen, dining at their favorite local restaurant and cheering on his grandchildren from afar. Jack's legacy lives on through his son Daniel T. Simpson and his significant other Shannon O'Connell; Michael R. Mullaney and his wife Heidi Mullaney, along with their nine children: Michael Jr., Reese, Gabriel, Olive, Mari, Maeve, Violet, Hazel, and Katie. He is also survived by his sister Anna (Bersani) Dorgan and her daughters, Kimberly (Howe) Dawkins and Beth (Howe) Azevedo.
Jack's memory will remain a guiding light for all who knew and loved him. Jack will be laid to rest with his wife Jeanne in Quincy, MA at a later date. A celebration of Jack's life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 1pm-5pm at 81 Scribner Way, East Bridgewater, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to The American Heart Association or the TJ O'Connor Adoption Center.
