John Richard Franz, 70 of Ft. Myers, FL passed away on November 8, 2019 at The Lodge of Cypress Cove.  John was born on February 24, 1949 in Napoleon, Ohio to Eldor Lewis Franz and Betty Gene (Rohrs) Franz.  John was a graduate of Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH.  Following graduation, John pursued a successful career in the dental business, starting with Litton, as a salesman, and working his way up to CEO of KaVo Dental.  John enjoyed his leisure time golfing, boating, and fishing, as his career took him to Savannah, GA; Devil's Lake, MI; Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; and Germany before bringing him to Fort Myers, FL.  As we all know, John was a people person and doted on his family and friends.  Smiling was his signature attribute.  John was a member of The Landings' Men's 18 Hole League and accomplished 3 hole-in-ones during his lifetime. John also was a member of the "ROMEO" group, sharing stories and good laughs with dear friends.  But John's dearest friend was Sabine and he loved day long boating and fishing trips with her in the gulf.  John is survived by his loving wife, Sabine Franz of Ft. Myers; his mother, Betty Gene Franz of Napoleon, OH; his daughter, Sarah DeMark of Salt lake City, UT; his daughter, Emily Mause(Chris) of Tempe, AZ; his brother, Bill Franz(Laurie) of Dayton, OH; his brother Tom Franz(Jan) of Napoleon, OH;  his granddaughter, Kate; his grandson, Brian; his nieces and nephews, and his many friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Eldor Lewis Franz and his beloved pet dog, Fido. Private services will be held. Memorial Donations may be made in memory of John to Hope Hospice or to the Gulf Coast Humane Society. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, Ft.
