John Thomas Garner 1924-2022 John Thomas Garner, 97, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on Monday February 7, 2022. John was a WWII, Battle of Bastogne survivor, during the Battle of the Bulge. He quit high school in his senior year to enlist in the US Army and after his services, years later in 1973 he took his GED test to finally obtain his diploma. He enjoyed growing exotic fruits, lychee fruits and Plumeria flowers in Ft. Myers on Evans Ave. He was employed with the Fort Myers News-Press as a Layout Technician. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Garner and grandchildren Ashley Garner and Crystal Wilson. Survivors include his sons, David Garner of Homerville, GA, Phillip Garner of Tulsa, OK, daughter-in-law Teresa Garner of Tulsa, OK; daughter Sandra Wilson, Peachland, NC, son-in-law Mitchell Wilson, Peachland, NC.; granddaughter Angel Habig and her husband Dave Habig of Ft. Myers, FL, granddaughter Kayli Wilson of Peachland, NC; great grandchildren Alanah Habig and Gage Garner both of Ft. Myers, FL.
