John F. "Jack" Monahan Jr., age 92, of Winter Park, passed away June 29, 2011 at his home with his loving family at his side. Jack was born in Iowa City, Iowa December 19,1918 to John Francis and Helen Margaret Shinn Monahan. Jack came with his family to Central Florida in 1925. He was a Graduate of the University of Florida; a U S Army veteran of World War ll, having served during the Philippine Liberation as Adjutant General. Jack was also past Administrator and CEO of Florida Hospital. He was  a member of the Morse Gallery, The FWP, Central Florida Rose Society and the First United Methodist Church of Winter Park. Preceded in death by his loving wife Beverly Joy Nugent Monahan and son James, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Jean Monhan Smith(Dennis) McCauley,daughter-in-law HollyT. Monahan,grandsons Joshua(Andrea) Smith, Jeremiah N. Smith,and Patrick J. Monahan;granddaughter, Jennifer E. Euske; great grandsons, Jake Ryan Smith, Logan J. Euske, and great grandddaughter, Elizabeth K. Euske. A Life Celebration will be planned at a later date at the First United Methodist Church of Winter Park.
