Obituary

John "Jack" F. Lehive, Jr. passed away on the morning of April 13, 2025, at the age of 92. He was a 29-year resident of Palo Alto in The Villages, Florida. Mr. Lehive died at the UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital while his wife, Marie, sat by his side. Jack was a devoted husband to his wife of 71 years and a loving father to their four children, Jay, Suzanne, Jeff (already passed), and David, daughter in law Adriana, along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born May 30, 1932, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was successful, having worked in sales his whole life. He was a four-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Thule, Greenland, for one year. Upon returning to the U.S., he continued his career in sales and was a proud union member. In his retirement, Jack's passion was gardening, and upon moving to The Villages on October 29, 1997, Jack pushed an idea to The Villages Foundation for the development of the Shared Harvest Community Garden, which still operates to this day. The family is having a private interment and asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines .  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.
