Obituary

We are three older sisters, Jerri Ann Broglin of Virginia, Nancy Lee Wills of New Hampshire, and Jane Louise Phipps of Florida, saying farewell to our hard-working brother. John David Phipps was a true Boy Scout at heart – the best camper and handyman anyone knew. He was trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, etc. – just like the Scout oath and law taught. One of Johnny's favorite employment sites was Universal Studios Theme Park in Orlando, Florida, as a mechanic. He was a real spiderman at heart as well. Given how fun-loving and adventurous (loved racing cars, too!) as he was, being a diligent member of the safety committee became a major accomplishment and proud moment. He loved the rollercoaster of the South and the downhill skiing of the North. He was a patriotic countryman to be sure. John maintained life-long friendships from his childhood Winter Park neighborhood – Mr. Walt Hagl and Mr. Robert Choser. Brian Wills, brother-in-law, and Brendan Wills, nephew, both from New Hampshire, were John's best buddies from the North! The beautiful niece from Virginia, Jenifer Broglin, will miss her Uncle John.
