Dr. John Moody Presley's Obituary

Dr. John Moody Presley, 92, passed away on October 31. He was born on October 30, 1926 in Falcon, NC, he has been a resident of this area since June 1998, coming here from Salem, VA. Dr. Presley was a retired VA Medical Center director. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Mensa and The Presidents Commission on Retardation. When he wasn't working, John could be found working on Model A Fords, which he both collected and restored, he was an author, a speaker, a patent producer, the founder of a youth camp and many other things. He had a passion for music, he could play over 30 instruments, with the trumpet being his favorite. He wrote music and sang throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Hill Presley and Mary Willette Puckett Presley, his sons, John Terry Presley and M. Scott Presley, and two grandchildren Shane Collins and Crystal Collins and his brothers Jackson Presley and Charles Presley . He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 60 years, Jane, son, Dan E. (Debbie) Presley of Port Orange, daughter Joy (Leon) Moore of Daytona Beach, grandchild, Kelsey Hunt of Albertville, AL and great grandchild Bryson Hunt. "If I can help somebody as they pass my way, then my living will not be in vain."
