John George Rhody, 81, of New Smyrna Beach Florida, passed away on October 2, 2017.  John graduated from Rutgers University and worked as a CPM for PSE&G in New Jersey before his retirement in 1991.  He served in the US Army in Germany and played professional soccer in the USA and abroad.  He was a dedicated basketball coach for many years.  John is survived by his wife Evelyn, their children Sean (Crystal), Steven (Jackie), Nancy (Pat), and Brian (Yolanda), as well as theirfour grandchildren, Michael, Jordan, Kayley and Keegan, and his sister Margaret and many nieces and nephews. A small service, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home at One N. Causeway in New Smyrna Beach, will be held on Friday, 10/13/17 at 11:00am, followed by a private internment at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
