Obituary

John Paul Rowley was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He went home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2021. He was born on February 7, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late John Robert Rowley and Vodie Dean Fallon. After graduating from high school in Taylorville, Illinois, John attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy where he obtained his degree in Pharmacy. It was there in St. Louis that John met and married the love of his life, Trula. After graduation, they moved to Danville, Illinois where they began life as Entrepreneurs. Together, they successfully owned an operated multiple independent pharmacies, as well as raised their family of three boys; John, Michael, and Kevin. John was the trusted town pharmacist for many years. The town grew to love and trust him and he developed many relationships with numerous people over the years too many to count. He touched the lives of everyone that he met. He was a very generous person and always willing to help those in need. After a few blizzards in the Midwest, John and Trula decided it was time to sell their businesses and move their family to sunny Florida to begin the next chapter of their lives. John continued the rest of his career as a pharmacy supervisor for Rite Aid pharmacy and then finished his illustrious 45 plus year career in pharmacy back where it all began; on the bench as a retail pharmacist. John was the consummate family man. He loved his three boys and would talk to each one of them almost every day of his life. He was always there willing to give advice, To be a stern hand when needed, and a loving shoulder to lean on in times of need. In his younger years, John was an avid fisherman, golfer, coach for his boys baseball teams. He was also very active with all of his son's sporting events, As well as his grandchildren's. He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame Athletics, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays, and Lighting. He was a fan of motorsports of all kinds. From NASCAR, to IndyCar, to Formula One, John enjoyed watching races of all kinds. John also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He and Trula were fortunate to have many of them close by and were able to see them on a regular basis. John and Trula were very Influential in many peoples lives and touched many peoples lives that changed them forever. John is survived by her three children: John Rowley, of Fort Myers; Michael Rowley of Sarasota; and Kevin Rowley of Gainesville, FL. She is also survived by Two Brothers: Nathan and Harold Weekley, Sister-in-Law; Bonnie Weekley, seven grandchildren: Chesley, Kyle, Kara, Sara, Ryan, Lyla, Olivia; and one great-grandchild: Finley Thompson and 2 nieces and 3 nephews. There will be a Committal Service at 2:30pm at the Linville-Barrett Cemetery in Coldwater, Missouri on June 11, 2022 following the Weekley Family Reunion.
