John J. Ryan Sr., 103, of Summerville, South Carolina passed away on October 31, 2016 at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. He was born on June 28, 1913 in Newark, New Jersey to the late William A. and Elizabeth Victoria (Harding) Ryan. John retired as a Draftsman from the Civil Service. He enjoyed carving and had a love of airplanes.  He is survived by his son Rev. John J. Ryan Jr. of Summerville, South Carolina; his daughter, Susan Fries and her husband, Jac of Port Orange, Florida; and his son James T. Ryan of Ormond Beach, FL. Additional survivors include his granddaughter, Michelle Pastor and her husband, Victor of Port Orange, Florida; his grandson, Timothy Fries and his wife, Andrea of Milford, MA. He is also survived by his six great grandchildren, Meghan, Aidan, Zachary, Madeline, Grayson and Noah. Burial took place November 17, 2016 at Daytona Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, Port Orange, FL.
