John Emil Slamka, "Jack", 73, of North Fort Myers, passed away November 28, 2020, at Lee Memorial Hospital, in Fort Myers, FL. Born October 15, 1947 in Detroit, MI., he was the son of John Joseph Slamka and Frances Josephine Krasnicki. As a young man Jack proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, later working as a machinist within the automobile industry prior to retirement. He moved to southwest Florida from Riley Township, MI., in June 2009. Jack was active in the Barbershop Harmony Society, Lions Club, and AMVETS. He was a member of Power Play Quartet; recognized as 2003 International Quartet Champions. Surviving are his loving wife Catherine Ann Slamka (nee Fagan) of North Fort Myers, FL., sons David Sanderson of Macomb, MI., Michael Slamka of Fort Myers, FL., and Mark Slamka of Gainesville, FL., brother Ken Slamka of St. Clair Shores, MI., sister Sue Ferguson of Roseville, MI., 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
