Obituary

John Dewey Voll, born October 6, 1939, passed peacefully, September 6, 2022. He was under care of Halifax Hospice after a fall resulting in a broken hip. Predeceased by his loving wife, Charlotte Sue Voll. He is survived by his daughter, Jamye Faulds, and grandchildren, Ashley and Dawson. John was born and raised in the Daytona Beach area, a graduate of Mainland High school. He served in the Army National Guard from 1956-58. He was a lifetime member of the United Association Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local 295 in Daytona Beach. One of his proudest accomplishments in his career was being able to say he worked at Cape Canaveral, and helped to construct the launch pads for the space shuttles. He had many opportunities throughout his long career to travel in the US and even made it to Morocco for a year. John enjoyed spending time with his family, and meeting new friends while he adventured around the Daytona area, hitting his favorite breakfast spots. Always a friend, with a sparkle in his eye, and a story to share, he will be forever remembered for his big heart and even bigger smile. For those wishing to honor John, please make a donation to Halifax Hospice. The love and kindness received for the last 2 years under their care was unmatched. Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach is handling his Memorial Service, with a date yet to be determined.
