John Joseph Warburton, affectionately known as "Bondo," of Spencerport, New York, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at 5:15 a.m., following a long and courageous illness. He was 67 years old.

John was born in Rochester, New York, on November 24, 1958, to Charles ("Chuck") and Therese Warburton. He was the sixth child and third son in a close-knit family.

Growing up, John faced challenges with dyslexia, making school difficult during a time when learning disabilities were not well understood. Despite those obstacles, he approached life with determination, independence, and resilience. He entered the U.S. Army at age 18 but was medically discharged during basic training. He later found work as an auto body painter, where he put his skills and creativity to use restoring automobiles.

John had a free spirit and a love for adventure. He enjoyed traveling, hitchhiking, meeting people, and taking on a variety of jobs that reflected his independent nature. In the late 1990s, he moved to Lake County, Florida, to be closer to family, where he remained for the rest of his life.

He worked at JR Auto Repair until a tragic hit-and-run accident left him permanently disabled.

Even after this life-changing event, John continued to find comfort in being surrounded by those who loved him. He spent his later years in Sorrento, Florida, with his younger brother Mark and his nephews Chris and Daniel Kaminska, whose love and care meant so much to him. John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Therese Warburton; his sister, Fran Kaminska; and his brother, Ed Warburton. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Marty (Anthony) Yokawonis of Sorrento, Florida; Paula Lavender of Holley, New York; Michelle (Gary) Strassner of Blackey, Kentucky; and his brothers Ronald Warburton and Mark P. Warburton of Clermont, Florida.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Lisa Brongo and her children Madilynn, Mitchell, Marshall, and Michael; Pamela (Nate) Burnes and their children Kyla, Emma, and Colton; Josh (Paola Vargas) Strassner and their children Sofia and Katie; Melissa Strassner, her daughter Alexis, and granddaughter Arabella; Jason Strassner; Melinda (Everett) Crowl; Hunter Marie Crowl and her children Emika and Nayeli; Camden Crowl; and Daniel and Christopher Kaminska.

John will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his sense of humor, and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he faced many challenges throughout his life, his family will always cherish the memories they shared with him and find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
