John Warian Jr., 77, of Florda, passed away peacefully on July 15th, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating many years of his life to farming and industrial work. Through hard work, kindness, and an unwavering amount of love for his family, he built a life that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Carol Warian of 57 years; two sisters, Janet (Duke) Mosher and Betty (John) Gawlik; two sisters-in-law, Linda (Bruce) Stockwell and Pam (Steve) Radick; and his lovely children, Jodi (Wayne) Weihl, David Warian, and Amanda Warian. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. John leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Logan (Josie) Warian, MacKenzie (Dustin) McConnell, Trystin (Bri) Warian, Devyn Warian, Kaylee Warian, Jordyn (Dom) Hartman, Ayslyn Warian, Savana Warian, Hunter Weihl and special friend, Zande, and Brayden Warian. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren; Lola, Madeline, Dillinger, Adalee, Bentlee, and Baylee who brought him great joy.

John was preceded in death by his parents Betty and John Warian Sr.; his mother and father-in-law, Esther (Hettie) and Harry Esckelson; his brother-in-law, Dave Esckelson; special nephews, Christopher Esckelson and Brian Sharp; and his beloved granddaughter, Kaylee Warian.

To those who knew him. John was simply unforgettable. He was one of the funniest and sweetest people you could ever meet, always ready with a joke, a smile, or a warm hug. Family was the center of his world, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by those he loved or visiting the water, where he found peace and happiness.

Many knew him affectionately as “Papa Smurf”, a nickname that perfectly reflected the love and joy he brought to everyone around him. His playful personality shined through in his favorite saying “Can I have a snack?” or “Go sneak me some popcorn and M&M’s.” Phrases that will forever bring smiles to the faces of those who loved him.

John’s legacy is the one of love, laughter, service and devotion to his family. His memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter he inspired, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

John’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place in Michigan at a later date. Family will let everyone know of date, time, and location, and also a celebration of life in Florida for friends and family. He will be buried in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors to be announced.
