John
Weaver
September 17, 1946 – September 23, 2021
John W. Weaver, 75, of Zellwood FL was called home to rest on September 23, 2021 after a valiant & courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Richmond VA in 1946 and was raised along with his brother's Gerald and Roland by his mother Evelyn Brown Darnell and step-father Alton Hill Darnell. John moved with his family to Florida in 1958 and attended Edgewater High School. He later attended night school to earn his GED while working during the day as a painter with his stepfather Alton. Later in life John worked for The Coca Cola Company/Coca Cola Refreshments from 1971 to 1995 and Carmax from 1995 until his retirement in 2012. John was an avid fan of Dodge/Chrysler, good food ("like mom use to make"), a great cup of unimaginably hot coffee, Westerns, oyster stew, long naps in his recliner, Little Debbie's, butter beans, Richard Petty and Donald Trump. He never missed a chance to remind you that "it's never as good as it use to be". His heart was as big as his smile and seemed to heal from invisible wounds rather magically. He forgave anyone and second chances were endless (as long as you wanted one). He was happy to ignore the policy at Publix and dole out dollars to the lucky bagger who helped him to his car. Even during the height of COVID he was an avid hugger and hand shaker and was never denied either one. The ladies were "Hon" (respectfully southern) and the men were "Sir". He had absolute disdain for football, mushrooms, hospitals and the beach. He met almost everyday with a smile and the superpower to hide his pain. It was often a losing battle to fight about who would pick up the check, but he seemed to enjoy the repartee. John was strong, brave, funny, smart, opinionated and yes, beautiful. He had more friends than he could count, but was undoubtedly surrounded in the knowledge he was loved. He will be remembered by so many and live forever in the hearts of those who loved him. John is preceded in death by his wife Beverly, mother Evelyn Darnell, stepfather Alton Darnell, brother Roland Weaver, and stepsister Carrie. John is survived by his 6 children Michelle, Yvonne, Teresa, Roxanne and son-in-law Bobby, John Jr and daughter-in-law Patricia, and Jeremy, several grandchildren, his brother Gerald and sister-in-law Peggy, sister-in-law Judy, several nieces and nephews and many more.
"God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put his arms around you And whispered "Come to me"
