John Filson
Zettler
Oct 7, 1968 — Jul 3, 2026
John Filson Zettler passed away peacefully 7/3/26, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and quiet strength. He was born on October 7, 1968, in Sarasota, Florida.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Zettler and Marjorie Filson Zettler, as well as his beloved partner of 23 years, Lauralyn, whose love and companionship were among the greatest joys of his life.
He is survived by his brother, Chipper H. Zettler (Kim); his sisters, Katie Zettler Ginella and Carol Zettler Scheetz; his nephews, Chipper "CJ" Zettler and William Scheetz; and his nieces, Nicole Zettler and Olivia Scheetz. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.
John will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and loving companion, brother, and uncle. He had a thoughtful spirit and a genuine warmth that made those around him feel valued and cared for. He found meaning in reflecting on his life's journey and spent time writing his autobiography—a story that, like his life, remains forever unfinished. Though the pages were never completed, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
John's family finds comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with those who went before him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In accordance with John's wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
