Johnny Akins, 79, of Ocala, FL, passed away January 2, 2015. He was born on September 9, 1935 in Wetumpka, AL. Johnny proudly served his country as a Marine. He was a heating and air conditioning technician. Johnny moved to the area in 1983 from Alabama. He enjoyed horse racing. Johnny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Katherine Akins, Ocala, FL; daughter, Patricia (Michael) Downs, Dothan, AL; step son, Michael (Beth) Hanson, Citrus Springs, FL; step daughter, Melissa Hanson, Ocala, FL; brother, Lester (Martha) Brown, Jr. Tallassee, AL; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
