Johnnye M. Jenkins, 79, a native of Ocala, FL, passed away June 19, 2015. Johnnye was born on July 31, 1935 to Gertrude and Orange Nixon, Sr. She was a proud graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1952. She moved to New York City in 1953 where she met and married Columbus Jenkins. Johnnye was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She worked for the United States Postal Service in New York for over 20 years. After retirement, she returned to Ocala. Johnnye is survived by her two daughters, Carla Jenkins of New Orleans, LA and Tia Jenkins of Arlington, VA and one grandson, Evan Jenkins of New York, NY. Johnnye is preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Jenkins.
